Since their opening in 1973, they have expanded their portfolio of services to include video monitoring, home automation, energy management and interactive security. \u00a0Their worst reviews have come from customers complaining about hidden clauses in the contract,\u00a0along with high cancellation fee and poor customer support. \u00a0Before diving deeper let&#8217;s take a look at some of the good and bad things.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #3296aa;\">A glance at the pros and cons of Central security:<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #26de26;\">Pros<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbb.org\/tulsa\/business-reviews\/security-control-equipment-and-system-monitors\/central-security-group-nationwide-inc-in-tulsa-ok-18213336\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">A+ BBB<\/a> rating<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Over 42 years in the security industry<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Decent prices<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Wide range of services offered<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Smart device control of alarm system<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Finally, home automation products available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #db4b4b;\">Cons<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of transparency<\/li>\n<li>Move with you fees<\/li>\n<li>Not available for renters<\/li>\n<li>This company has a poor online reputation for customer service and resolving issues.<\/li>\n<li>A recurring complaint is that when a problem arises, a customer gets passed back and forth between the local dealer and head office. This is a negative aspect of having a network of local independent dealers who carry out installations.<\/li>\n<li>Limited availability only to those on the East coast<\/li>\n<li>Finally, it&#8217;s difficult to cancel the services and end up being contractually tied into services which were not explained to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Tip: \u00a0Read\u00a0all paperwork before you sign anything. \u00a0If you may be moving within the next 3 years it may be smart to go with a national security\u00a0provider.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Did you make the cut? \u00a0<\/em>Unfortunately, Central is a smaller company with services <strong>only available in the following states<\/strong>: Louisiana, Kentucky, California, Arizona, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-988 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Pricing-Packages-e1378176132638.png\" alt=\"Review of Prices banner\" width=\"372\" height=\"85\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Pricing-Packages-e1378176132638.png 700w, https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Pricing-Packages-e1378176132638-300x69.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 372px) 100vw, 372px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3296aa;\">Central Security Prices<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>They do a very good job of hiding their prices on their website and only offer &#8216;Free Consultations&#8217;, tricks to get you on the phone with a high-pressure sales rep. \u00a0After doing some digging here is what we found:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitoring at $39.99-79.99\/mo<\/strong>. \u00a0Depending\u00a0on whether you go with basic or home automation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting costs of $199-399<\/strong>. \u00a0Installation and activation are common fees in the industry but\u00a0paying anything over $99 means you could have gotten a better deal elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Packages offered<\/strong>. \u00a0This is one of the most confusing parts about Central Group. \u00a0They can&#8217;t just list 3-5 packages, what you get along with prices like most companies. \u00a0Here is a picture of the several options they have which can make it confusing on which one is best for your home.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3249\" src=\"https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/central-security-group-packages-.jpg\" alt=\"central security group packages\" width=\"612\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/central-security-group-packages-.jpg 612w, https:\/\/alarm-reviews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/central-security-group-packages--300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over 12 different packages to choose from, they did a good job at even confusing us! By integrating technology with your home security system you are able to benefit from text or email alerts when your child gets home from school, giving you peace of mind and eliminating unnecessary worry from your life. You can also see what your pets are doing while you&#8217;re not home, ensure elderly parents are safe in their home\u00a0or check on contractors and babysitters that may be in your home. Offering an array of different equipment to their customers means that the security company is able to customize a package to a client\u2019s specific needs and requirements. Customer service is where this security company apparently falls short, with billing issues being one of the main complaints from past and existing customers. The company is rated as having only <strong>1 star out of 5<\/strong> by ConsumerAffairs, the lowest possible rating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The complaint that appears most frequently is that customers continue to be billed even <em>after<\/em> they have had their service uninstalled, or that they have problems canceling the service even after their agreed term is over. Central Security Group does not accept cancellations over the phone\u00a0and instead require a written letter requesting cancellation.
